I have it written in my contract for a late fee and I may let it slide once, but then I mention that if it happens again I will charge them and if it continues then I will fill their daycare spot. Good Luck! Answer by: Mary 2009-05-01
I require parents to pay me on the first day of the week the child is with me for the upcoming week, usually Monday. If by Wednesday they cannot pay me, I won't let them leave their child. Once in a while to have them pay late is understandable-we all run in to money issues. But to be consistently late is unacceptable. Ask them how they would feel if their employer paid them late all the time? Answer by: TMB 2009-08-02
Charge a late fee of $5.00 per day it is late or any amount you want. Also have it in your contract that the parents sign Answer by: kimber 2009-08-29

I run an in home day care in CA. I am thinking to set up the webcam at my home daycare so the parents can see how we do in here. However, I don't think i can use the msn or skype for it. Does anyone know where can I find more information about that. Any idea of price of setting it up?

How can I keep my baby from crying so much when I leave him off at daycare?
| |
Answer it
Every time I leave my two year old off at his daycare he goes nuts and cries his head off! He started going a month ago but nothing has changed. We've tried the long goodbye and the surprise exit (where someone distracts him inside and we disappear), but he cries like crazy no matter what we do. After crying for a couple of hours he seems to be okay, and when we pick him up he's happy to see us, but it's clear he's been having a good time. It's just so painful to see him cry so much when we leave him off. Are there any tricks to fixing this? Posted by Chris 2009-09-22
Hope to get answer from everyone
Have your provider distract him with toys, or something else. If he is busy playing, he may not even notice you left. If it doesn't work, kids usually only cry for maybe a few minutes after the parent leaves, and then they completely forget about it the rest of the day. Hang in there, it will get better!
